Phlebotomist II – 1st Shift

Livonia, MI 48152 Contract End Date: February 27, 2027 Shift: 1st Shift, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM ET | 40 hours/week

The Phlebotomist II / Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the organization for patients visiting for routine health services and important diagnostic testing. The position is responsible for collecting high-quality blood and other clinical specimens, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, accurately documenting patient information, and providing a safe, professional, and compassionate patient experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong phlebotomy skills, attention to detail, customer service, confidentiality, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Perform venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures accurately, safely, and efficiently.

Collect and process clinical and forensic specimens according to established policies and procedures.

Perform Pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Confirm specimen tube labelling with the patient immediately following venipuncture.

Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures.

Follow all company policies and procedures, including confidentiality, safety, dress code, and employee health requirements.

Provide excellent customer service and create an atmosphere of trust and confidence for patients.

Work independently with minimal on-site supervision while exercising sound judgment.

Support multiple Patient Service Centers and/or In-Office Phlebotomy locations based on business needs.

Travel between locations and provide coverage with minimal notice when required.

Work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, on-call assignments, and overtime as needed.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred.

Phlebotomy certification is required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience required.

Pediatric collections, Geriatric collections, Capillary collections.

Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.

Keyboarding and data-entry experience required.
