Description The Long-Term Substitute Teacher provides continuity of instruction and classroom leadership during an extended absence of the regular classroom teacher. The Long-Term Substitute is responsible for implementing the established instructional program, maintaining classroom routines and expectations, assessing and monitoring student progress, and supporting the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development of students.
The Long-Term Substitute works collaboratively with school leadership, faculty, staff, and families and carries out responsibilities in accordance with the mission, policies, and procedures of Saint Bridget Catholic School and the Diocese of Richmond.
Requirements Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to Catholic education and to the mission and values of Saint Bridget Catholic School. Candidates should possess strong written and verbal communication skills, effective interpersonal and organizational skills, flexibility, enthusiasm, a positive attitude, and the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a professional team.
A bachelor's degree and Virginia teacher licensure/certification are preferred. Candidates who do not hold Virginia licensure may be considered based on qualifications and the requirements of the Commonwealth of Virginia and the Diocese of Richmond.
The Long-Term Substitute Teacher must demonstrate the ability to establish a positive classroom environment, effectively manage student behavior, follow established curriculum and instructional plans, and provide consistent academic and pastoral support to student
