CNC Machinist - Morning and Night

Machinist Job Description The role of Machinist involves setting up, operating, and changing over Bridgeport style mills, lathes, grinders, and more with minimal supervision. You will study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.

Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut.

Enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media according to established guidelines and procedures.

Select, align, and secure work-holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines to manufacture parts as drawing-specified.

Observe machine operation during set-up to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls as needed.

Perform part inspections by verifying conformance of finished products to specifications using measuring and inspection tools.

2+ years' experience setting up and operating manual and CNC machines.

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Skill in reading and interpreting documents such as work orders, drawings, manuals, set-up instructions, and safety regulations.

Work Environment The machining facility houses approximately 68-69 employees in a climate-controlled environment. The work schedule includes 1st shift (M-F 6a-2:30p), 2nd shift with a 10% premium (2p-10:30p), 3rd shift with a 15% premium (M-Th 10p-8:30a), and a weekend crew with a 25% premium (Fri-Sun 6a-6:30p).
