Full Time Aviation Baggage Handler

The work of a TWU Cargo Ramp loads and unloads cargo on and off aircraft; the transporting of cargo between terminals and aircraft. Remain cognizant of WFS staff, security contractors, and visitors' activities and report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance with the site security plan to managers or via the WFS whistleblower program. Comply with WFS site security plan for assigned warehouse. Marshall aircraft upon arrival and departure.

Load and unload cargo on and off aircraft.

Safely drive and operate ground support equipment, including belt loaders and tugs to pick-up and deliver cargo between the terminal, warehouse and aircraft.

Perform ground service functions, such as connecting/removing ground power and ground start units and water service.

Perform aircraft pushback, wing walking and related guide man functions.

High school diploma or GED equivalent

Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays, and nights

Basic mechanical aptitude for operating ground support equipment

Ability to pass background checks and comply with airport security regulations

Fluently read, write, and speak the English language

**This job is covered by a collective bargaining agreement of the Transport Workers Union (TWU), a labor union which requires joining the TWU and paying union dues.**

Previous experience in aviation or ground handling operations

Familiarity with aircraft types and airport layout

Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols in the airport environment

Experience operating ground support equipment, such as tugs, belt loaders, and forklifts

Basic computer skills for completing paperwork and using scheduling systems

Strong customer service orientation and a positive attitude toward passenger interactions

Frequent standing, walking, and moving throughout the airport terminal or warehouse

Manual dexterity required for handling documents, operating computers, and using two-way radios

Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods (up to 8 hours or more during shifts)

Capacity to work in confined spaces, such as baggage handling areas or aircraft cabins

Ability to work in a noisy environment, such as near aircraft engines and ground support equipment
