DIVISION OF REAL ESTATE LEGAL UNITSENIOR ATTORNEYPosition Number: 79011513 Responsibilities range from ensuring the safety of food service, maintaining the integrity of real estate transactions, furthering the transparency of condominium governance, and of course, overseeing the qualifications of licensure that ensure work requiring a skilled professional is performed safely and sufficiently. DBPR’s stakeholders include these professionals and their customers alike. Griffin, DBPR oversees many of Florida’s professions and industries in the areas above, and many more which can be seen on our website: This is a highly responsible position that may serve as a Deputy Chief Attorney and performs administrative prosecution of violations for assigned professions under the jurisdiction of the department, including Chapters 455 and 475, Florida Statutes, and all applicable practice acts. Provides leadership and guidance to assigned law clerks and other division employees; Provides legal procescution; Analyzes violations of statutes or administrative rules for regulated professions and recommends appropriate action; Researches/drafts/reviews/amends pleadings, complaints, motions, dismissal orders, consent orders, settlement agreements and memoranda of law; Reviews, edits, and evaluates proposed rule packages; Prosecutes and defends enforcement actions before the Division of Administrative Hearings and the agency's informal hearing officer; Defends claims for attorney fees and costs; Provides legal advice to division staff and other agency employees.Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, and policies;
Skill in drafting legal documents;
Ability to conduct legal research;
Ability to recognize and act on emerging issues and shifting priorities;
Ability to travel.
Must have at least two years of professional experience in the practice of law.
