Associate Veterinarian Position- Full time or Part time

Tempus Veterinary Recruitment

Our client is a non-profit hospital hiring for an Associate Veterinarian to join their team on either a full-time or part-time basis. The hospital sees cats and dogs and offers the full scope of general practice services in a supportive and well-organized environment. This role involves the full scope of GP responsibilities, including wellness / preventative care, internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, and general day-to-day case management. A non-surgery caseload is also available for doctors who would prefer not to perform surgery. The position is ideally suited to a veterinarian with 1 or more years of DVM experience who is confident seeing appointments independently, although mentorship in soft-tissue surgery is available for those looking to further develop their surgical skills. Full-time doctors work 38-40 hours across four weekdays with no weekends required, while part-time scheduling is open to discussion.

The hospital operates Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8am-6pm, and Wednesday from 8am-5pm, remaining closed on weekends. The 6000sqft facility includes five exam rooms, three isolation rooms, a dedicated euthanasia room, and two surgical suites. The practice is equipped with dental x-ray, digital x-ray, a state-of-the-art ultrasound, IDEXX in-house labs, Cornerstone EMR, therapy laser, dental tools, an oxygen scavenger system, and AI scribe technology. The hospital provides the full scope of GP services alongside in-hour emergencies and is open to expanding services for doctors with experience in additional areas of interest. Appointment scheduling is structured with 15-minute routine and vaccine appointments and 30-minute medical appointments.

The team consists of one permanent doctor supported by a large and consistent relief doctor team, alongside three technicians, three assistants, two reception staff members, one kennel attendant, and a practice manager. The hospital maintains a 3:1 staff-to-doctor ratio and is known for its organized workflow and supportive atmosphere. The support staff are confident and experienced, allowing doctors to focus on practicing medicine while working within a collaborative and positive environment where the team genuinely enjoys coming to work.
