Job Overview Carpenter – Anchorage, Alaska – Joint Base Elmendorf‑Richardson. Type: Non‑Exempt. Work Schedule: Full‑Time, Day Shift. Compensation: $46.12 per hour.

Responsibilities Inspect, perform preventative maintenance, and repair buildings, structures, and associated property.

Maintain, repair, and alter structures including foundations, walls, doors, windows, roof framing, floors, and related features.

Maintain cable trolley systems, obstacle course apparatuses, and playground equipment.

Layout, install, replace, repair, and remove interior and exterior walls, floors, roofs, platform towers, steps, handrails, ceilings, and roofs.

Maintain interior and exterior finishes, trim, and decor to match or exceed existing appearance.

Ensure construction is resistant to fungus, mildew, termites, water absorption, and other environmental effects.

Assemble and secure furniture and fixtures as needed.

Use mobile maintenance and inspection devices to record all service and repair activities.

Ensure installations meet environmental protection requirements.

Clean, maintain, adjust, calibrate, and service equipment used in duties.

Conduct mold and asbestos testing and abatement as required.

Operate various hand and power tools.

Operate company‑provided vehicles, trailers, and equipment such as lifts, generators, portable heaters, hoists, and pneumatic equipment.

Maintain professionalism in appearance and demeanor.

Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Qualifications Three (3) years of carpentry or construction experience.

Willingness to work outside normal hours, including back shift and weekends, when unplanned outages occur.

Ability to work in diverse environments, including inclement weather and high m‑lift positions.

Ability to read and understand schematics and blueprints.

Journeyman carpenter license preferred.

Physical Requirements Lift or move up to 70 pounds.

Reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for extended periods.

Climb in and out of vehicles, and up and down stairs.

Persevere to work effectively under pressure for extended periods.

Requirements Valid state driver’s license; ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera insurance.

REAL‑ID compliant driver’s license or acceptable alternative such as a U.S. passport or military ID.

Ability to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.

Background check and E‑Verify will be conducted.
