Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) :2-3 PCTs and 1 unit secretary
Type of equipment :
3-12 hours shifts with EOW or 4 weekend shifts per schedule
Floating policy: Float to ICU to care for downgrades and ER Holding for patients waiting on beds
Bedside shift report is our method of patient hand off
Hospital Specifics-
~ Ability to care for 4-5 PCU patients/ post cardiac procedures to include: Ability to care for patients with Traches, Chest Tubes, titrating drips, CIWA, and strokes. Proficient in reading telemetry strips. Time management to include plans of care every shift, collaboration with physicians and ancillary departments. Phlebotomy
Nurses administer breathing treatments outside of the ICU (Respiratory treatments: inhalers and nebulizers)
Foley Catheter care and maintenance (with nurse driven protocols for removal)
Telemetry Post ICU Patients
