Registered Nurse - Respiratory ICU (Nights)

Critical Care Registered Nurse - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
Location: New Brunswick, NJ
Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule: Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30). Must work or provide on-call coverage for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years).
Job Description: Seeking an experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, intensive care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents, managing complex medical and surgical cases with a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities

Manage care for patients with critical conditions including respiratory failure, congenital heart disease, and trauma.
Utilize advanced skills in ventilator management, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), and cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
Perform assessments and administer medications and vaccines as needed.
Document patient care and chart using the EPIC system.
Participate in unit meetings and collaborate with team members for continuous quality improvement.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Minimum of 2.5 years of acute care experience, preferably in Critical Care.
Active New Jersey or Compact RN license required at time of submission.
ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required. NIHSS certification preferred.
Experience with ventilator management, CVVH, and interpretation of dysrhythmias.
Experience in PICU, Pediatric Stepdown, or related pediatric care settings is strongly preferred.
