Distribution Center Shipper

Order PickerThe Order Picker is responsible for accurately selecting, moving, and preparing footwear merchandise for shipment to retail stores and customers. This role requires safely operating a forklift while meeting productivity, quality, and safety standards in a fast-paced distribution center environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAccurately pick customer and store orders using RF scanners, pick lists, or warehouse management systemsOperate a forklift safely to move, stage, load, or retrieve merchandise from rack locationsSelect correct footwear styles, sizes, and quantitiesPack products according to company and safety standardsLabel cartons and prepare orders for shippingMeet daily productivity, quality, and accuracy goalsPerform visual inspections to ensure product quality and correct labelingMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work areaFollow all OSHA safety regulations, forklift safety procedures, and company policiesAssist with additional warehouse tasks as assigned (replenishment, inventory counts, returns)Qualifications & RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED preferredPrevious warehouse or distribution experience preferredAbility to operate a forklift requiredForklift certification preferred (or ability to be trained and certified by the company)Ability to read, count, and match product numbers accuratelyBasic computer or RF scanner experience preferredAbility to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift for extended periodsAbility to lift, push, or pull up to 40 lbs (with or without accommodation)Dependable attendance and strong attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a teamWork Environment & ScheduleWarehouse / distribution center environmentFast-paced, physically active roleExposure to temperature changesOvertime may be required during peak seasonsShifts may include weekends or extended hours based on business needsPreferred SkillsStand-up or sit-down forklift experienceExperience working in retail or footwear distributionStrong safety awarenessCommitment to accuracy, efficiency, and teamworkWhy Work at Famous FootwearStable distribution center supporting a nationally recognized brandTeam-oriented culture with training and certification opportunitiesCommitment to safety, respect, and operational excellenceFamous Footwear is part of Caleres Inc., a diverse portfolio of 15 global footwear brands including Sam Edelman, Naturalizer, Vionic, Dr. The actual pay rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.
