The Water/Wastewater Practice is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer in Spokane, WA, Boise, ID, Coeur d'Alene, ID, Pocatello, ID, or Salt Lake City, UT.
The ideal candidate will support the planning and design of municipal (special purpose district and/or city) water and wastewater infrastructure. This role is ideal for a motivated engineer ready to take on increasing responsibility in project delivery, technical problem-solving, and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities:
Engineering & Design

Perform planning and design for water and wastewater infrastructure systems
Support development of:
Conveyance and pumping systems
Storage and distribution systems
Collection systems and treatment facilities
Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, plans, and specifications
Assist with permitting and regulatory coordination
Project Support

Contribute to project delivery including scope, schedule, and budget adherence
Support task leadership on projects and coordinate with internal teams
Collaborate with drafters, EITs, and other technical staff
Growth & Development

Participate in mentorship and development of junior staff
Continue developing technical expertise and professional skills
Contribute to a collaborative environment
Participate in professional organizations and industry engagement
Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field); EIT required, PE or ability to obtain preferred
• 4–8 years of experience in civil engineering, with exposure to water and wastewater system design
• Experience supporting municipal (city and/or special purpose district) water/wastewater projects
• Working knowledge of water/wastewater design principles and engineering fundamentals
• Familiarity with public agency standards, permitting, and regulatory requirements
• Proficiency with standard engineering tools (e.g., hydraulic modeling, drafting/design software, Bluebeam, spreadsheets)
• Ability to support design tasks and collaborate effectively within project teams
• Strong communication and technical writing skills

Potential salary range: $100,000/annually - $130,000/annually
