Upon the order of a qualified provider, the Ultrasound Technologist utilizes equipment that employs high frequency sound waves for diagnostic purposes according to policies, procedures, and protocols of the KSC Radiology and/or OB Department and Kelsey-Seybold Clinic.Imaging services include performing scans for obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) patients. The Ultrasound Technologist will utilize the designated Radiology Information System (RIS) to complete clerical processes and the designated Patient Archiving System (PACS). May be assigned to other duties, technical or non-technical if training, experience, and credentials are deemed adequate by supervisor to perform those duties.Performs diagnostic sonography according to policies, procedures, and protocols of the KSC radiology and/or OB department. Understands age related communication needs of patients and can effectively convey instructions to patients to facilitate the performance of sonographic studiesParticipates in Technical Quality Control measures, which include performance of routine equipment maintenance and reporting malfunctions or variances in equipment performance to the Medical Imaging Supervisor or their designee in the supervisor's absence. Maintains necessary supplies and documentation of cleaning logs as applicableUses RIS system correctly, according to Clinic and Department guidelines and properly documents, for the Interpreting physician review, atypical conditions, which could affect image quality and/or content. Understands PACS system and can identify problems with image transmission as they occur and notify Medical Imaging Supervisor or their designee when corrective actions are beyond the scope of the technologistConscious of ultrasound safety measures. Complies with all KSC safety initiativesParticipates in formal and in-service training programs of Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, department specific in services, and any applicable site-specific training. May be assigned to other duties, technical or non-technical if training, experience, and credentials are deemed adequate by supervisor to perform those dutiesInteracts effectively with patients and coworkers, including staff assigned to other locations. Communicates readily and well with Supervisor, Lead, and Interpreting Physicians in giving and receiving feedback. Capable of dealing effectively with other clinic departments, physicians, and staff. Uses the Mission and Values as a guideline for all communications, verbal, written, or electronicYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:High School diploma or GED from an accredited programEducation sufficient to meet applicant status with the ARDMS or ARRT (S)RDMS (OB/Gyn)BCLS certification2+ years of clinical ultrasound experience in OB/Gyn scansDemonstrated ability to use computer keyboard and grasp elements of digital image acquisitionProven excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:Healthcare related degreeRT(S), RDMS (BR), (OB/Gyn)Nuchal Translucency (NT) certification3+ years of clinical ultrasound experiencePACS and RIS experienceBreast ultrasound imaging experienceBi-lingual or multi-lingualPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $28.94 to $51.63 per hour based on full-time employment.
