Job Title: Occupational Therapist Job ID: 90541 Location: Union City, California Role Summary Are you a dedicated, compassionate Occupational Therapist who excels at helping older adults maintain their independence, functional mobility, and quality of life? We are seeking an energetic Occupational Therapist to join our patient-centered clinical care team! In this rewarding role, you will deliver direct occupational therapy treatments and interventions while overseeing functional maintenance programs for patients. Operating under the administrative supervision of the Center Manager and clinical guidance of the OT Program Specialist, you will work in close collaboration with Physical Therapists, care teams, and Rehabilitation Aides. Deliver direct occupational therapy treatments and clinical interventions to patients.
Provide clinical training, guidance, and supervision to Rehabilitation Aides, patients, and family members participating in functional maintenance activities.
Participate actively in the team, offering clinical expertise for plan of care development, problem-solving, and interdisciplinary processes.
Provide center-based supervision of the rehabilitation department in collaboration with Physical Therapy staff.
Mentor and train support staff and Rehabilitation Aides as appropriate.
Quality & Administrative Operations
Complete all administrative requirements, including attending team and staff meetings, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and record/track OT rehabilitation equipment.
Practice investigative techniques and analytical thinking to determine optimal patient care approaches.
Implement operational and policy changes as directed by leadership.
Graduate of an approved Occupational Therapy academic program.
Active license as an Occupational Therapist in the state of California issued by the California Board of Occupational Therapy (CBOT).
Successful completion of certification exam and active registration through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
Work Experience & Clinical Skills
Experience: Two to four (2-4) years of clinical experience in physical disabilities, with a required focus on working with geriatric or frail elderly populations.
Personal Attributes: Flexible, self-motivated, resourceful, and possessing strong analytical problem-solving skills.
Physical & Environmental Capability: Ability to stand, walk, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs. ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and work effectively in a fast-paced clinic setting.
Prior experience providing occupational therapy in a senior day health center, outpatient clinic, or ambulatory care facility.
