Special Education Paraeducator

Now accepting applications for fall 2026. Position details: hourly, 10-month position. School assignment to be determined. Work hours vary based on school assignment and student/program needs. Reports to: building principals, immediate supervisor. Supervision: none. Salary 2026-2027 school year (effective July 1, 2026) $19.00/hr traditional setting $21.00/hr level IV setting.

Qualifications: required: high school or GED diploma. 60 college credits (or AA/AS degree) with a GPA of 2.0 or higher or passing score on the Paraeducator Exam (contact district for information). Bilingual.

Position summary: the special education paraeducator is responsible for assisting teaching personnel or special services staff in the supervision and instruction of special education students, performing classroom clerical tasks, assisting students with special health care needs, and supporting the development of students' daily living and behavioral skills.

Essential duties: assist in the implementation and follow through of educational programs developed through the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process. Assist students with feeding, lifting/positioning, bathroom needs, personal hygiene, and swimming. Promote school district rules, policies, procedures, mission statement, and core values. Adhere to federal, state, and district student data confidentiality and privacy laws. Perform record keeping and clerical functions to support administrators and teachers. This includes health, dental, and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts for medical and dependent care, as well as life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) coverage, and long-term disability insurance.
