Under the direction of the Purchasing Manager, the Buyer/Planner will perform various purchasing/planning and administrative tasks. The tasks will involve supporting functions for the Manufacturing and Finance departments. This position is based at the Company’s Milpitas, CA facility.

Planning

Assist with organizing inventory;

Evaluate and recommend solutions to inventory issues;

Maintain database fields that control the timing and quantity of inventory on the basis of demand and forecasts;

Coordinate the procurement of raw materials;

Maintain inventory accuracy;

Dispose inventory when it becomes obsolete due to product life cycle or engineering changes;

Record transaction entries in system to maintain inventory records.

Purchasing

Analyze material demand, identify shortages, and expedite orders;

Buy and manage raw material requirements.

Provide order lead time guidance to Customer Service and Project Management as required;

Administrative experience in a professional setting;

Prior planning/purchasing experience;

Strong verbal and written communication skills and comfortable speaking on the telephone;

Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision;

Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word; Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains ERP system; Ability to look at computer monitors for much of the workday.

Approximately 80% Office Setting; Approximately 20% Light Industrial - May be exposed to areas of high noise levels and industrial facilities.

Appropriate PPE and training will be provided for all conditions.

The base salary range for this position is $35 and $42 per hour. We generally offer employees working 21 hours per work or more medical, dental, vision, along with voluntary ancillary benefits. The Company has a 401(k)-match program and has company-paid life and AD&D insurance available for eligible employees.
