Staff Attorney – Drivers Union

Drivers Union is one of the first organizations in the nation to provide a legislative and legal framework for gig workers to have a true and legitimate voice in their work lives, regardless of their employment status. we are looking for staff who are committed to the fight and to advancing social and economic justice.

Drivers Union is seeking a full-time Staff Attorney to represent gig workers in arbitration and legal proceedings. Advocate on behalf of workers in deactivation and arbitration proceedings.

• Maintain own case load including conducting investigations, legal research and strategy, drafting legal memos, case presentation and enforcement proceedings.
• Along with all employees, help maintain a positive, respectful, welcoming, professional and culturally competent work environment.

Experience with labor or employment law, public defense, and/or trial experience is a plus.

• Ability to communicate orally and in writing and to negotiate with third parties on behalf of drivers.
• Particular consideration will be given to candidates with fluency in language(s) other than English, and community leadership in the region’s diverse immigrant and refugee communities.
