RRT- Hospital - Respiratory

Our client is seeking an experienced, licensed Respiratory Therapist (RT) to oversee its home ventilator patient population and support a variety of respiratory equipment and services. This is an opportunity for a patient focused respiratory professional who enjoys working independently, educating patients and caregivers, and collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure safe transitions from hospital to home.
The role includes ventilator management, equipment setup, ongoing patient support, and participation in a rotational 24/7 on-call schedule. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8: 30 AM to 5: 00 PM, with rotational 24/7 on-call coverage.
Key Responsibilities Manage home ventilator patients from initial referral and home safety assessments through equipment setup, ongoing monitoring, and follow-up care.
Set up and troubleshoot ventilators and other respiratory equipment, including CPAP/BiPAP devices, apnea monitors, pulse oximeters, and portable oxygen concentrators.
Educate patients and caregivers on equipment operation, safety, and emergency procedures.
Coordinate with physicians, hospitals, discharge planners, and healthcare teams to support safe transitions to home care.
Provide after-hours support for ventilator patients, troubleshoot urgent equipment concerns, and travel to patient homes when necessary.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, payer, and infection prevention requirements.
Build strong relationships with referral partners and collaborate with leadership on program operations, equipment availability, and quality improvement.
Qualifications Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and applicable state licensure, as required.
Experience in home medical equipment (HME/DME), home respiratory care, or home ventilation preferred.
Ability to work independently and respond effectively to urgent patient and equipment needs.
Ability to travel to patient homes and lift, carry, and set up equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
