Our bank client is seeking to fill a teller role in the Lombard, IL market. The selected candidate will be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing and recording routine transactions for bank customers including cashing checks, accepting deposits and withdrawals, processing loan payments and money transfers. In addition, the Teller promotes and advises customers on the bank’s products and services.
Bank Teller responsibilities include:
- Providing comprehensive, prompt, and efficient customer transactions.
- Receiving checks and cash for deposits to accounts, verifying amounts, examining checks for proper endorsement, and entering deposits into computer records.
- Assisting in the bank-by-mail function, where available.
- Balancing cash drawer at the end of the shift and comparing totaled amount to computer generated proof sheet. Ensuring that the teller station is properly stocked with forms, supplies, etc.
- Cashing checks from a variety of accounts upon proper verification.
- Cross-selling financial institution services such as safe deposit boxes, traveler’s checks, etc.
- Receiving mortgage, consumer loan, and other payments, and ensuring the payments match balances due.
- Entering payment into the computer.
- Reporting malfunctions of teller terminals and other equipment used at the teller station to supervise.
- One or more years of teller experience.
- Successful completion of the in-house training program, or other approved training program
- Good interpersonal communication and computer skills, ability to operate standard office software and equipment.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to read and speak English proficiently.
