Medical-Surgical / Orthopedic Registered Nurse (RN)
We are seeking a dedicated Medical-Surgical / Orthopedic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, demonstrating flexibility and a strong commitment to patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide nursing care to patients receiving various orthopedic procedures, including total knee, hip, shoulder replacements, and spinal surgeries.
Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Monitor patient conditions and communicate effectively with the healthcare team regarding any changes.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Participate in ongoing training and departmental meetings, contributing to a culture of learning and support.
Shift Information
Available shifts include day shifts from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM and night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM. Self-scheduling is encouraged with cyclic rotation, and participation in weekend rotations is required every other weekend.
Nurse-Patient Ratios
The nurse-patient ratio on this unit is approximately 1:5-6, ensuring adequate attention and care for each patient.
Qualifications
Current BLS certification is required.
Must possess a valid driver's license for submission and verification.
Previous experience in a medical-surgical or orthopedic setting is preferred.
Orientation and Training
New hires will receive one day of unit-specific orientation to familiarize themselves with protocols and procedures. A pass/fail exam will take place during orientation, with resources provided for studying. A minimum score of 90% is required to pass.

A successful candidate will demonstrate ownership of their duties and a willingness to assist colleagues as needed.
RTO (Requests for Time Off) should be limited to 7 or fewer days during the 13-week contract with limited opportunities for additional time off.
