Innovative Therapy Concepts is a Physical Therapist owned and operated Therapy management organization that was founded by Joe Sapp, PT in 2006. We began our partnership with Texas Orthopedics in 2020 to provide management of their therapy services. ITC is searching for a Physical Therapist that is seeking to join an organization that seeks to 'Elevate the Experience' as we encounter each patient we serve. This career opportunity allows for a Physical Therapist to practice in the outpatient orthopedic setting with the opportunity to evaluate and treat a variety of surgical and non-operative patients. The therapist will administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatment for patients suffering from injuries or muscle, nerve, joint and bone diseases, to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability. Reviews physician's referral and patient's condition and medical records to determine physical therapy treatment required.

Tests and measures patient's strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capacity, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency, and records findings to develop or revise treatment programs.

Plans and prepares written treatment program based on evaluation of patient data.

Instructs, motivates and assists patient to perform various physical activities to achieve functional goals.

Instructs, motivates, and assists patient to perform various physical activities and in use of assistant and supportive devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, canes, and prostheses.

Administers treatments involving application of physical agents and various modalities - hot/cold packs, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, iontophoresis, TNS, and dry needling.

Administers massage.

Records treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart or enters information into computer.

Evaluates, fits, and adjusts prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommends modification to orthotist.

Confers with physician and other practitioners to obtain additional patient information, suggest revisions in treatment program, and integrate physical therapy treatment with other aspects of patient's health care.

Orients, instructs, and directs work activities of assistants, techs, and students.

Plans and conducts lectures and training programs on physical therapy and related topics for medical staff, students, and community groups.

Plans and develops physical therapy research programs and participates in conducting research.

Consults and practices with a variety of other professionals, such as physicians, dentists, nurses, educators, social workers, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and audiologists.

This position can include supervising Physical Therapy Assistants or Techs in some situations.

Active and current Physical Therapist License in the state of employment; passed National Physical Therapy Examination and fulfill state requirements such as jurisprudence exam.

Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited physical therapy program.

Must be willing to work occasional weekend shifts in designated sites.

Compassionate and desire to help patients.

Must have functional knowledge of ReDoc Database, Internet software, Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software, Microsoft Word, and basic email skills.

Language and Technical Skills

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Must be willing to work occasional weekend shifts in designated sites.

Should also be compassionate and possess a desire to help patients.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with assistance. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, occasionally exposed to vibration, moderate noise level.
