Estimator - Construction Subcontractor

For more information, visit the company's website at sampson-construction.Our Preconstruction Team is looking for new team members which includes Estimators, Dr. Estimator, or Preconstruction Manager.

This role supports construction projects by preparing full estimates on large and complex as required by client's documents, provides complete conceptual and total bid price.

Displays professional communication with all parties involved in the construction project, including engaging in effective conflict resolution and problem solving strategies.

Reviews project specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.

Maintains files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current (accurate) information on prices from suppliers and subcontractors.

Visits project sites to evaluate implications upon final estimate costing.

Updates skills for software tools and technology utilized.

Performs post-bid analysis and participates in project hand-off meetings.

Helps prepare for and participates in proposals and interviews seeking potential new business opportunities.

Manage solicitation process to ensure maximum subcontractor bids are received.

Coordinates subcontractors in attempt to eliminate and minimize scope gaps.

Provides complete summary at conceptual, SD, DD and CD drawing level including costing, scheduling and quality reviews.

Follows department protocol regarding confidentiality of data and information.

Computer skills - Timberline, Expedition, Excel, ICE, PayDirt, Digitizer, On Screen Take-off, Microsoft Outlook and Word

Accuracy and thoroughness - monitors work to ensure quality

Construction Management degree or equivalent combinations technical training and/or experience

WORK EXPERIENCE:

3-5 years' experience with projects of 5 million and larger.
