Chief Marketing/Growth Officer - Perma.Location: Remote

Perma is private cloud storage you pay for once. Customers buy upload capacity upfront, files are encrypted in the browser before upload, and the private key stays with the customer. Our mission is to give people a simpler way to keep their files private without another recurring storage bill.

We're looking for a Chief Marketing Officer to turn that promise into a brand people understand, trust, and choose. You'll own Perma's marketing strategy and execution, from positioning and customer research to acquisition, conversion, and customer engagement. You'll work closely with the founding team to identify our strongest customer segments, sharpen our story, and build a repeatable path from discovery to purchase and ongoing use.

You'll make privacy, encryption, key ownership, and the pay-once model understandable while keeping every claim grounded in what the product delivers.

Define Perma's positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategy around clear customer needs.

Interview customers and test audiences, use cases, and offers to identify where Perma resonates most.

Build and improve acquisition across content, search, social, communities, partnerships, referrals, and paid campaigns where the economics work.

Own website messaging, launch campaigns, email journeys, and educational content that help customers understand the product and take action.

Establish measurement across the customer journey and connect marketing investment to revenue, acquisition cost, payback, and contribution margin.

Build the marketing team and external partner network as priorities and resources evolve.

Strong product marketing judgment and the ability to explain technical concepts in clear, compelling language.

Hands-on experience with customer research, acquisition experiments, conversion optimization, and lifecycle marketing.

Comfort working with limited resources, making decisions with incomplete data, and changing direction when evidence calls for it.

Strong writing skills, analytical discipline, and care for customer trust.

Experience with consumer software, cloud storage, privacy, security, or products sold through one-time purchases is a plus. demonstrated ability to build and lead a marketing function matters more than your current title. In your first 90 days, you'll develop a clear view of our priority customers, refine the messaging, establish funnel measurement, and run focused growth experiments. Over time, success means a recognizable brand, stronger customer activation and conversion, and acquisition channels that produce sustainable economics for a pay-once product.
