Philosophy Adjunct Instructor – Philosophy

Oregon Tech is recruiting adjunct instructors for the Humanities and Social Sciences Department to support its General Education courses and minor in Arts, Literature, and Philosophy. The role involves teaching part‑time courses such as HUM125: Technology, Society, and Values; PHIL331: Ethics in the Professions; PHIL342: Business Ethics, among others. Courses may be offered online, in person or in alternative formats.

Responsibilities

Teach assigned undergraduate courses in philosophy or related fields.

Prepare and grade assignments, develop course materials, and give instructions in alignment with the department’s curriculum.

Use a learning management system (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard) to manage course content and student communications.

Participate in faculty meetings and contribute to curriculum development.

Qualifications

Master’s degree or higher in Philosophy or a related field.

Experience teaching at the college level.

Legal authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience using Canvas or a similar LMS.

Experience using virtual meeting and collaboration tools such as Zoom, Skype, and Microsoft Teams.
