Job Title: Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Hourly Pay Rate: $46.90

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated Registered Nurse for a Telemetry unit featuring 18 beds at a growing facility. This is an exciting opportunity to join a new Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with numerous educational opportunities. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of recent acute care RN experience and be comfortable managing a variety of patient conditions including sepsis, cellulitis, DVT/PE, CHF, COPD, COVID, PNA, and post-operative care for total joint surgeries and GI/abdominal procedures. First-time travelers are welcome if they meet the experience requirements; prior permis staff RN experience is necessary.

Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment
Manage patient conditions including wound care, JP drains, wound vacs, dialysis catheter care, PCA, and pain management
Pass an EKG competency exam prior to start
Support patient recovery and safety while collaborating with healthcare team members
Schedule & Shift Details:

• 4 days one week, 3 days the next (mandatory)
• Every other weekend rotation
• Will work 2/3 holidays
• No on-call requirement
• Orientation: 2-4 days hospital orientation, 2 days on-unit orientation depending on experience

Qualifications:
Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
Ability to pass EKG competency exam
Wound management and vascular access experience preferred
Recent acute care RN experience (minimum 2 years)
Must have separated for at least 1 year if previously a perm staff
Support & Equipment:
EMR: Meditech Expanse
IV Pumps: Alaris
Medication Dispensing: Pyxis
Support staff includes charge nurses, HUC/secretary, phlebotomists, RTs, hospitalists, OT/PT/ST
Environment & Additional Details:
Float within various Med/Surg areas, with first floating responsibilities
Scrubs: Pewter color; T-shirts white, gray, or black with WK monogram; jackets gray or black
Badges worn above the waist at all times
