Quality Sorter Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
Ability to inspect forged parts using calipers and other measuring tools
Ability to identify defects and out-of-specification measurements
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to complete production and quality reports accurately
Basic math skills, including fractions and decimals
Ability to interpret written, verbal, diagram-based, and schedule-based instructions
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to follow standard operating procedures without deviation
Positive and professional attitude toward coworkers and supervisors
Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of personal protective equipment
Key Responsibilities
Inspect forged mechanical parts for defects and out-of-specification measurements.
Use calipers and other measuring tools to verify product quality.
Support certified inspectors, shift leaders, and supervisors in the shot-blast department.
Receive inspected parts and complete required paperwork, processing, and packaging.
Help maintain a continuous product flow to minimize shot-blast machine downtime.
Record quality data, measurements, nonconforming materials, and inspection results.
Report safety concerns, quality defects, and nonconforming materials to leadership promptly.
Follow all standard operating procedures and work instructions.
Use the "Stop, Call, Wait" procedure when established instructions cannot be followed.
Maintain accurate production reports and required quality checks.
Follow assigned priorities to support production schedules and performance goals.
Assist with improvement and refinement ideas for the assigned work area.
Maintain positive working relationships with operators, quality-control personnel, and inspectors.
Wear required personal protective equipment and follow all safety procedures.
Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
Follow directions from shift leaders, foremen, supervisors, and managers.
Perform additional quality and production duties as assigned.
