Cardiac Echo SonographerWe are looking for a Full-Time Cardiac Echo Sonographer to join our Baystate Cardiology team!We are a 68-bed community hospital in Palmer, Massachusetts. We provide access to the world-class doctors, treatments, diagnostics, and technology of the Baystate Health network. Our team members, including skilled, compassionate nurses and medical support staff members, provide advanced and compassionate care.Schedule:40 hours, day shiftOn-call, weekend & holiday rotationLocation:3300 Main StreetSpringfield, MAQualifications:Graduate of an ultrasonography accredited program requiredActive Basic Life Support (BLS) license with American Heart Association3+ years of experience preferredSummary: The role of the cardiac sonographer is to perform echocardiograms evaluating different aspects of the heart, such as chamber size, valve function and blood flow. The individual will work with physicians and in doing so may assist in other diagnostic procedures (TEE's, Stress Echocardiograms). Other duties may include research, 3D imaging, scheduling appointments, explaining procedures to patients and or assisting patients, maintaining ultrasound equipment. Incumbent is expected to adhere to system and department compliance policies, and any applicable laws and regulations. Clinical Practice/Performs diagnostic quality exams according to department protocol/procedure. Clinical Practice/Demonstrates knowledge of equipment and optimizes equipment to enhance image quality. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of ultrasound physics, instrumentation, tissue characteristics, and measurements of blood flow, including the biological effects of ultrasound.Maintains safe operation of designated equipment and assists to ensure orderliness of department.Actively seeks and is receptive to honest feedback from healthcare team in ways to improve quality and performance.Is knowledgeable of and assists with emergency procedures.Maintains safe operation of designated equipment and assists to ensure orderliness of department.Education: Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Required)Certifications: Basic Life Support – American Heart Association, Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer – American Registry for Diagnostic Medical SonographyCompensation:Note: The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system.
