Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting the attending Dentist in examining and treating the oral conditions of patients located across the Seminole Tribe of Florida's Communities. The individual provides preventive dental services to patients, and education in oral hygiene. The incumbent assists the Dentist with the examination of patients to determine nature. Reviews patients' medical and dental history and consults with the attending Dentist for any medically condition prior to treatment. The individual assists with the removal of sutures and periodontal dressings. High school diploma or equivalent GED is required. Completion of an accredited dental hygiene program is required. An active, current licensure as Dental Hygienist in the state of Florida is required. Minimum of two (2) years of experience working as dental hygienist is required. Incumbent must possess a valid Florida Driver's License and a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Completion of a course in the administration of local anesthesia, offered by a dental or dental hygiene program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association or approved by the board. The course must include a minimum of 30 hours of didactic instruction and 30 hours of clinical experience. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Ability to travel to all STOF's Reservations and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
