Evening & Overnight Dispatcher

Position Overview: Primarily responsible for executing the dispatch process that supports Operations. Provides exceptional customer service to customers and drivers.Responsibilities:Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.Responsible for carrier sourcing and development.Regularly and accurately dispatches customer-controlled freight.Responsible for verifying carriers are approved and meet all internal/external requirements.Optimize routing to be cost effectiveActs as liaison for solving driver and carrier issues.Responsible for maintaining carrier and customer base.Performs other incidental and related duties as required.Experience Requirements:2+ years’ transportation and third-party dispatch experience.1-2 years’ warehouse experience or truck driving experience.2 years’ dispatching experienceEssential Skills/ExperienceStrong experience with Microsoft OfficeCommunication with team to demonstrate & set expectations. Be supportive with the team and operationsProfessional attitude & work ethic with direct reportsProven ability to prioritize and multi-taskStrong work ethicHandling customers & their needs with care in timely and professional mannerGood time management skillsFlexible fast paced worker willing to work in a changing environment.Working Conditions:Fast-paced environment.May be required to work either 2nd or 3rd shifts.Requires normal vision (corrected) both close and distant.Requires normal hearing levels (corrected).Requires working at a desk to use a phone and computer for extended periods of time. Requires sitting, bending.Uses office equipment and machinery effectively.Requires normal finger dexterity for keyboarding.Works effectively with frequent interruptions.Lifting requirements of 50 lbs. occasionally.Minimal travel <10%.
