The Continental General family of companies has provided insurance, including life and long-term care policies, to individuals and groups for over 30 years, and currently supports over 100,000 policyholders. The group is actively growing through expansion of both its insurance portfolio and its administrative services. The Actuarial Analyst will be assigned to a line of business or unit for analyzing loss and expense reserves or premium rates. The individual will maintain eligibility in the Actuarial Student Program and be working toward eventual attainment of Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries.
Maintains and validates actuarial models
May perform research, experience studies and other statistical analyses
Maintains documentation of actuarial analysis.
Demonstrates proficiency with advanced Excel techniques and programming
Works with large data sets
Perform work on multiple projects simultaneously
Develop a strong network of internal partners, peers and mentors
Builds working knowledge of company operations, systems, and actuarial methodologies
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline
- Ability to perform work under general supervision, and familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Must have passed at least two actuarial exams towards Associateship in the CAS or SOA
