RN ICU Weekend Shifts Temporary

SICU Registered Nurse

The role involves direct patient care for a specialized population within the SICU. The patients include trauma cases, cardiovascular surgery patients, and other complicated surgical patients. Common diagnoses include acute ventilator need, severe sepsis, trauma cases, unstable GI bleed, and multi-system organ failure. The nurse will be involved in the management of patients requiring CRRT and open heart recovery. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1:2-3, depending on skill level and acuity. Weekend shifts are required every other week. Travelers may float to non-ICU units as operational needs require. Charting will be done using an electronic health record system.
