Head of project energy

Smith Engineering is seeking a Project Manager to join our team as a Sr. Mechanical Engineer in the New York Metro area. You will split your time between our Manhattan office and various customer sites.

Mechanical Engineer to function as a Project Manager, designing large-scale cooling systems, including selecting equipment, performing calculations, and coordinating with clients and other engineers.

Project Management : Oversee the entire project lifecycle, ensuring seamless communication and successful outcomes

Technical Design : Perform cooling and heat load calculations; Design, analyze, inspect, perform field testing, and troubleshoot engineered systems for central energy plants

n : Collaborate with clients, architects, electrical engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration, ensuring all project requirements are met

Quality Assurance and Compliance : Ensure designs adhere to Smith Engineering standards complying with building codes and standards; Assist in the production of construction documents, including specifications

Build and maintain strong client relationships through direct communication and by presenting design options and progress reports

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or closely related discipline followed by 6+ years of experience working with HVAC projects including central plants

Ability to navigate a mechanical room and perform field surveys of piping systems

Experience performing Basic Engineering calculations along with Revit; 3D modeling software preferred

Experience assisting with construction administration and project management

Technical expertise in basic building systems knowledge
