Patent Attorney Opportunity

Our client, a leading AmLaw 200 law firm, is seeking a Patent Attorney to join its growing Intellectual Property practice. The attorney will focus on U.S. and international patent preparation and prosecution involving software, electrical, electromechanical, mechanical, computer engineering, physics, and related technologies. This is an opportunity to work directly with inventors, in-house counsel, foreign associates, and experienced IP attorneys on a range of sophisticated patent matters.

Draft and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications.

Prepare responses to USPTO Office Actions and participate in examiner interviews.

Conduct patentability, freedom-to-operate, and validity analyses.

Handle patent matters involving software, electronics, electromechanical systems, image processing, and related technologies.

Conduct legal and technical research involving patent law and emerging technologies.

Communicate with inventors, in-house counsel, foreign associates, and clients.

Collaborate with attorneys across practice areas to provide comprehensive legal solutions.

1-4 years of experience in intellectual property, with meaningful patent preparation and prosecution experience.

• USPTO registration required.
• D. from an accredited law school.
• Undergraduate degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience with patent matters involving software, electronics, electromechanical technology, image processing, or related technologies.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, clients, inventors, and other professionals.
