Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a 32-bed flex unit serving both intermediate and general care populations
Care for oncology patients requiring surgical intervention as well as benign surgical patients across specialties including ear/nose/throat, colorectal, OB/GYN, urology, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, thoracic, and plastic surgery
Read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips as part of ongoing patient monitoring
Maintain a 1:4 RN-to-patient staffing ratio and participate in self-scheduling within established guidelines
Float to areas of equal or lesser care as needed based on unit staffing requirements
Fulfill holiday and weekend shift commitments per assignment schedule (3 out of 4 holidays; 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
Required Qualifications
Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact State license
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips
Prior travel nursing experience
Proficiency with Epic electronic health records system
Preferred Experience / Skills
Previous experience in a PCU, IMC, or stepdown unit setting
Familiarity with surgical oncology or post-operative patient populations
