We are seeking a skilled Welder/Fitter to join our team in the steel industry. This role involves the fabrication, fitting, and welding of steel components based on job specifications. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and experienced in welding and fitting operations. You will be responsible for interpreting work orders, preparing materials, and using various tools and equipment to produce high-quality steel components.

Fabricate and repair steel parts and structures using cutting, burning, and welding techniques (e.g., Fit, assemble, and tack weld components in preparation for final welding.

Monitor welding and fitting processes to avoid overheating, warping, or other material damage.

Operate overhead cranes and other material‑handling equipment to move and position steel components.

Measure and mark materials accurately for cutting, fitting, or welding.

Identify and verify materials for correct size, grade, and heat numbers.

Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in a clean and organized manner.

Report faulty equipment, defective materials, or safety concerns to a supervisor promptly.

Participate in housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

High school diploma or GED preferred.

5 years of experience in welding and fitting, preferably in a steel fabrication environment.

Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, welding symbols, and job specifications.

Skilled in various welding processes (MIG, Stick, Fluxcore).

Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and hand/power tools.

Ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding environments.

Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is always required.
