Location: Franklin Community High School and/or Franklin Community Middle School
Supervised by: Aquatics Director & Facilities Manager
Days per year: As needed
Hours per day: As needed up to 27.5 hours/week
Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain student/patron safety through accident prevention lifeguarding and provide emergency first aid when necessary.
Consistently enforce pool rules.
Follow the emergency action plan for rescues. Move efficiently to make rescues.
Wear uniform when guarding.
Attend in-service training and staff meetings when required.
Protect and care for pool property and equipment.
Properly complete all paperwork.
Maintain professionalism at all times.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Must hold current certifications by the American Red Cross and possess minimum qualifications of lifeguard training, CPR and standard first aid.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

Work is normally performed in a pool/aquatics facility.
Some physical effort is required.
Some exposure to physical risk.
