Phlebotomist – We Train

Primary Responsibilities

Assist in determining the suitability of donors.

Establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer happiness while ensuring donor confidentiality.

Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions.

Monitor donor and equipment to ensure health of donors and quality of product.

Set up, disconnect, and operate the automated plasmapheresis machines.

Disconnect and dispose of all contaminated disposable equipment.

Occupational Demands

Work is performed in a plasma center. Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms. Exposure to electrical office equipment. Exposure to extreme cold below 32 degrees F while working in plasma freezer. Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments, gloves and cold gear. Work is performed standing for 6 to 8 hours per day, bending and twisting neck and waist for 1-2 hours. Frequent hand movements required. Ability to make precise coordinated movements. Frequent foot movement; may infrequently squat, crouch or sit on heels. May walk up to 6-8 hours per day. Light lifting of 15 lbs, maximum lift 50 lbs. Visual acuity: one eye 20/30, other 20/100. Must comprehend and follow instructions. Must listen and understand information presented through spoken words and sentences. Must perform within guidance of oral or written instructions. Relates sensitive information to diverse groups.

The estimated pay scale for Phlebotomist role based in Whitehall OH is $17.10-21.85 per hour. Additionally, the position is eligible to participate in up to 4% of the company bonus pool.
