Caterpillar's Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Caterpillar in San Antonio, Texas is seeking a dynamic Quality Inspector I to join our team! As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in exceeding production standards by providing comprehensive support for quality issues on the production line. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with quality managers and various departments to meet both customer and company needs, while focusing on elevating product quality, velocity, and cost-effectiveness through skilled data analysis and effective problem-solving. Inspect parts and materials to ensure they are free from quality defects

Provide support for quality issues on the production line

Maintain safe and clean workstations, including equipment

Communicate with the team about missed inspection items or customer concerns

Deliver daily work assignments as directed by Production Managers and assist with special projects

Support out-of-process containment activities and reactive quality measures

Occasionally participate in training and development

Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English

General knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and/or PowerPoint

Knowledge of products and assembly tools

Proficiency in Built-In Quality (BIQ) Processes

Ability to perform repetitive operations

Must successfully complete a background, drug, and medical screening

2nd Shift will receive a 7% shift premium

• Schedule : Monday - Friday, 2:00pm-10:30pm. Overtime as required.
