This job requires coordinating with customers, suppliers, test facilities, and other related fields including manufacturing, subcontracts, quality, structure design, avionics, controls, stress and thermal analysis, systems engineering, and integration with affected subsystems and facilities. Other duties may include:Assist on the conceptual development, requirements definition, and design of propulsion componentsPerform trade studies to select the appropriate design solutionDevelop product performance specifications, statements of work, and supplier data requirements for componentsParticipate in development of system and interface requirementsParticipate in shop floor and production hardware processing on-site at partner facilities. Provide input to process planning, support production meetings, and work with supply chain to assure that design requirements are met.Support Subsystem IntegrationPerform technical evaluations on supplier proposals and review supplier data submittalsRespond to Vendor Requests for Information or ChangeEvaluation and dispositioning of nonconforming propulsion hardwareAbility to work on a multi-disciplined team performing structural design trades, detailed design/analysis activity and performance and maintenance assessments of operational systems.Support dynamic test definitions, requirements development, test monitoring, data reduction, and comparison to analysis efforts.Provide user documentation and recommendations to data packages to support peer and customer reviews, present analysis data to engineering teams, customer technical representatives, and Program Office personnel at technical interchange meetings and design review.The information below reflects the standard job description for this position:Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.Basic QualificationsBachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.Experience with major test and integration campaignsAbility to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearanceDesired SkillsStrong understanding of propulsion/energetic system design, development, manufacture, test, and/or data acquisition and analysisUnderstanding of and experience with attitude control systems or guidance / control interfacesAbility to troubleshoot and respond to problemsHands-on hardware experience with demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and respond to problems - in a test, production, or operations capacityPrior integration of complex systemsAdvanced degree in technical fieldExisting DoD security clearance (Secret or Top Secret)Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practicePay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $95900.00 - $178100.00At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
