Full Time Litigation Paralegal

McAnany, Van Cleave & Phillips, P.A. (MVP Law) is looking for a Litigation Paralegal to join our Kansas City, Kansas, office to help us meet the needs of our growing practice. Our Paralegals assist our Attorneys with managing billable work, scheduling, file coordination, opening and/or closing files, summarizing documents for review and daily organizational needs relative to our cases in order to allow our attorneys to use their billable time effectively. Candidates should work well both independently and collaboratively within a team to assist our attorneys in managing the billable work of the firm.

Responsible for all billable tasks: medical records, discovery, etc.

Drafts various legal documents for attorney review

Requests, follows-up on, and organizes medical record files

E-File documents within appropriate court filing systems (Kansas City)

Researches and analyzes case data

Responds to record and legal documentation requests

Answers phone calls, takes messages or transfers calls to appropriate parties

Works with highly confidential information and always maintains utmost confidentiality

Minimum Qualifications 2- or 4-year degree and a minimum of 5 years of recent experience in a paralegal role within the civil litigation/tort practice area is required
