Avionics And Weapons Systems EngineerPerform research, development, and life-cycle support for avionics and weapons systems slated for or installed on advanced naval tactical aircraft.Perform system engineering tasks of defining system requirements and architectures, developing plans and schedules, provide management and support throughout the aircraft life cycle including advanced development and in-service engineering.Perform system integration, test and analysis necessary to transform operational needs into avionics system descriptions, integrate related technical engineering specialties, and coordinate the efforts of other engineering disciplines.Review the work in progress in the Branch on a continuing basis, furnishing technical guidance when required and assume both technical and administrative responsibility for the accomplishment of the work.Review completed work for attainment of original objectives, for validity of engineering interpretations and for compliance with established local Navy policies and procedures.Must be a US Citizen.Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required.Supervisors in the executive branch have heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics.
