Night Shift, 3x12 hours, from 19:00 to 07:00.
Job Description
The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory care and facilitating patient transport as medically prescribed. The role involves evaluating patients, recommending treatment plans, and educating patients upon discharge. The therapist will operate various ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning techniques as needed.
Responsibilities
Administer physician-prescribed treatments using various respiratory devices.
Evaluate patient statuses and determine necessary interventions.
Conduct oximetry and capnography monitoring.
Perform chest x-ray reviews and pulmonary function studies.
Assist in procedures related to respiratory care, including bronchoscopy and chest tube placements.
Provide tracheostomy care and manage device insertion/removal as required.
Perform arterial punctures and monitor ventilation efficiency.
Maintain documentation of treatments and patient responses.
Communicate effectively with healthcare team members regarding patient care.
Required Experience
Experience in intensive respiratory care and familiarity with various respiratory equipment is required.
Certifications/Licensure
Current state license as a Respiratory Therapist.
BLS and ACLS certification required.
