Job Summary The primary purpose of your job is to provide nursing services in the Nursing Acute in accordance with the current applicable Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations and established policies and procedures as may be directed by the CEO, Director of Physician Services, CNE and practice providers.

Documents nursing intervention, patient response, effectiveness and complications and summarizes information on discharge.

Summarizes assessment data and makes a nursing care plan which is written and communicated to other patient care providers.

Implements plan of care:

Implements clinical and technical aspects of care and nursing orders in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Functions within the limits of State Nurse Practice Act, hospital and nursing department policies and procedures.

Patient and family instruction/education and discharge planning:

Communicates such plan via Bedside Shift Report.

Reports patient care or management problems to Clinical Coordinator and /or supervisor when necessary and investigates and intervenes in problem situations reporting appropriate information.

Coordinates unit routines, providing guidance to staff, orienting new staff, assuring presence and working order of emergency equipment.

Unit requirements: Acute care- MED/SURG: Demonstrates ability to care for patients in various age group, pediatrics to geriatrics.

Demonstrates ability to care for surgical patients.

Demonstrates ability to care for medical patients.

Demonstrates ability to provide safe environment for short-term psychiatric patients.

Demonstrates a working knowledge and safe use of medications specific to the acute care patient population.

Personal growth and development: Has completed annual nursing competencies.

Complies with all policies and standards

Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing

Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts • Current BLS /CPR certification required within 1 week of hire. Current ACLS Certification1 year prior, related of Medical/Surgical experience

Pay Range $39.18 - $94.48/Hourly
