Head of Internal Audit, Finance

First Majestic Silver

First Mint is a direct-to-consumer bullion brand under First Majestic Silver Corp., a Canadian-based mining company with silver and gold operations located in Mexico and the United States. First Majestic launched First Mint to offer its customers high-quality silver products minted from silver extracted directly from its own mines. The brand is designed to give customers a transparent link between the mining process and the final bullion product, which is relatively unique in the precious metals industry.

The Manager of Finance is responsible for leading First Mint's financial operations, accounting functions, and financial reporting processes, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information in support of operational and strategic decision-making. This role oversees the month-end and quarter-end close processes, inventory accounting, production costing, procurement reporting, spend analytics, and internal controls within a manufacturing and inventory-driven environment.

The Manager of Finance partners closely with operations, supply chain, procurement, and leadership teams to strengthen financial visibility, improve reporting processes, optimize purchasing and inventory controls, and support scalable business growth. This role serves as a key financial business partner, providing leadership with insights into operational performance, cost management, and financial planning.

Lead and oversee month-end and quarter-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

Review and approve journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.

Oversee the preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring timely identification and resolution of variances.

Analyze financial performance, cost trends, and operational variances, providing recommendations to leadership.

Prepare and review financial reports, management reporting packages, and supporting schedules.

Partner with leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.

Support external audits and internal control reviews by managing audit requests, schedules, and documentation.

Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, internal policies, and financial reporting requirements.

Support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance activities, including control documentation, testing support, and remediation efforts.

Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting processes, workflows, and internal controls.

Oversee product costing, including raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods inventory valuation.

Manage inventory accounting processes within SAP, ensuring accuracy of inventory transactions, adjustments, and reconciliations.

Lead inventory reconciliations between physical inventory counts, production data, and system records.

Maintain and strengthen metal accountability controls, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of precious metal inventory and movements.

Review and analyze production costing, material variances, and manufacturing efficiencies to support operational performance.

Perform and oversee monthly inventory and metal confirmations with third-party partners, refiners, and vendors as applicable.

Partner with operations and supply chain teams to improve inventory accuracy, reporting, and control processes.

Oversee procurement-related financial reporting, including purchase order activity, vendor spend analysis, and open commitments.

Partner with procurement and supply chain teams to monitor purchasing trends, vendor performance, and budget alignment.

Support the development and enhancement of procurement controls, reporting structures, and approval workflows within SAP.

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership

Establish and maintain strong working relationships with operations, procurement, supply chain, and executive leadership.

Support the development of scalable accounting processes and procedures to meet business growth objectives.

Act as a key financial business partner, translating financial data into actionable operational insights.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing, production, inventory, or metals environment.

Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of cost accounting principles.

Experience with inventory accounting, product costing, procurement reporting, and financial analysis required.

Experience supporting SOX compliance, internal controls, and audit processes preferred.

SAP experience strongly preferred.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.

Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information to operational and executive leadership.

Demonstrated ability to lead process improvements and build scalable financial processes.
