Loan Officer
A loan officer identifies, acquires, and grows new & existing profitable business relationships with businesses & consumers that create value for the customer & yield loan commitments & deposit balances for Schertz Bank & Trust.
Manages existing portfolios, monitoring the financial condition of accounts in relation to acceptable risk
Attends to the needs of customers seeking loans or lines of credit on terms that involve significant amounts of unsecured funds and/or credit secured by assets
Monitors current loans & credit lines to ensure complete conformity with terms & cognizance of developing trends
Identifies weaknesses in credit performance and recommends appropriate corrective action
Provides financial advice & counsel to customers & prospective customers
Manages all phases of the loan life cycle including, but not limited to relevant systems, loan policies & structure, product knowledge, financial analysis, appraisal review and environmental assessments
Solicits deposit relationships based on established product offerings
Utilizes decision making & credit analysis skills to make appropriate credit & structuring decisions

Proficient on computer and able to learn and use specific software
Excellent customer service skills
Proven ability to handle multiple projects & meet deadlines
Ability to effectively communicate with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels
Must be able to speak, read, write & understand the primary language used in the workplace
Desire to represent Schertz bank & Trust in a professional and ethical manner at all times

Some overtime may be required
Must be available & willing to work at another branch if needed with frequent travel to the Main Branch for regularly scheduled meetings
