You’ll join a business with a long track record of engineering excellence, set in the wonderful town of Burbank filled with great community atmosphere, schools, weather and no shortage of entertainment.### ### Start the next chapter of your career with Crane Aerospace & Electronics! ### **Job Summary:** ### The Buyer Planner II - Aftermarket R&O is responsible for managing all aspects of purchasing components from suppliers in order to assure timely delivery of parts to support production needs. In addition, the Buyer Planner II is the communication and logistics link between stakeholders such as Value Streams, Supervisors, Marketing, Master Scheduler, and Purchasing. ### **Responsible for effectively coordinating the planning of customer repair units to support the Aftermarket organization; Entering purchase orders for Supplier Integrated Parts (SIP Parts) and following up on open PO’s for SIP parts with SIP Vendors.### * ### Coordinate resolution of material related issues to ensure availability of required materials.### * ### Schedule repair jobs through the shop to achieve One-Time-Delivery and contractual Turn-Around-Times.### * ### Champion new ideas and processes to improve efficiency, cost reduction, and on-hand inventory.### ### **Knowledge & Experience:** * ### Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in buying/planning.### * ### HS Diploma (college degree or some college in related field preferred)### * ### Solid understanding of material planning and scheduling methods### * ### Knowledge of industry supply chain best practices and innovations related to delivery performance, cost management, material handling, and lead time reduction### * ### Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams and with all management levels in a dynamic environment### * ### Strong interpersonal and communications skills### * ### Strong decision-making ability and creative problem solving skills### ### **Minimum Qualifications:** * ### Experience: 2+ years of experience buying in a similar industry or demonstrated equivalent knowledge of supply chain function through work experience or school * ### Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the manufacturing process used in the operating unit of assignment; Working knowledge of buying, and ordering procedures; Working knowledge of production planning, material requirements planning and Kanban systems; Working knowledge of computer systems that support production, e.g., inventory control, purchasing, production scheduling and Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) * ### Skills/Abilities: Well-developed skill in communicating with others; Proficiency in Excel and Word and ability to work with Access databases; Ability to coordinate materials and production schedules with multiple teams, solve urgent problems associated with the manufacture of products and document and communicate production outcomes and trends; Ability to negotiate changes with vendors and manufacturing teams * ### Education/Certification: BA or BS degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Materials-related field desired### ### **Working Conditions:** * ### Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment * ### Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE * ### May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes * ### Requires occasional travel to support customers * ### Standing: 10% \\*percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task* ### Sitting: 90% \\*percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task* ### Lifting (in pounds): up to 10 pounds* ### Pushing (in pounds): up to 10 pounds* ### Mental/Visual: use of computer* ### Workspace: cubicle/desk### ### **As a team member at Crane Aerospace and Electronics, you’ll enjoy:*** ### Benefits: Health care, dental or life insurance starting the first day of the month* ### Time Off: 15 days of paid time off that start accruing your first day at Crane and 12 paid holidays per year.* ### 401k Retirement Plan: 401k plan with company match* ### Education Reimbursement: eligible after 90 days of employment ### You can see a list of our benefits at or visit our website at for more information on our company and great opportunities.### ### In our efforts to maintain a safe and drug-free workplace, Crane Aerospace & Electronics requires that candidates complete a satisfactory background check.
