Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Burn ICU position requiring a CA RN license, BSN, and prior critical care experience at a teaching hospital.

Details

Work in the Burn Intensive Care Unit (BICU) of a hospital setting

Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30

Must be willing to float to other facilities within the health system

Uses Epic charting system

Cares for critically ill burn patients including ventilator management and multisystem organ dysfunction cases

Performs arterial line management, blood product administration, IV therapy, and continuous IV sedation monitoring

Requirements

Active CA RN license required at time of submission

BSN required

Min 2 years of RN experience

Min 1 year of critical care experience

Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history

Prior travel assignment experience within the last 12 months required

Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS

Epic EMR experience required

Experience with ventilator management, suctioning (ETT, NT), and cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management

Proof of COVID vaccination and booster required, or scheduled booster appointment prior to start date

Two professional references from most recent employer required for consideration

Additional Information

Provide critical care nursing to burn patients including infection prevention, phlebotomy, and cardiac monitoring

May be reassigned to a different unit or facility within a 75-mile radius during the assignment if qualified

Prior experience in burn units, pediatrics, or additional certifications such as CCRN, ABLS, or CBRN preferred

Charge nurse experience preferred

Candidates with prior employment at any University of California medical facility must disclose dates, units, and manager names for a rehire eligibility check

RTO requests must be disclosed at time of submission and approved by the manager; no RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment

Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers

Non-billable training modules completed during pre-start and annually, with transcripts recorded via UC Learning
