SURGICAL SERVICES (BILLINGS CLINIC HOSPITAL)

Shift: Day, Evenings, Nights, Weekends

Employment Status: Full-Time (.Operates heart-lung machine in hospital to take over functions of patient’s heart and lungs during surgery or respiratory failure.

Reviews patient medical history and chart, consults with surgeon or physician to obtain patient information needed to operate

• heart-lung machine and associated equipment.
• Selects, assembles, and tests heart-lung machine & supplies to ensure that machine and associated equipment function according to specifications.
• Monitors and observes operation of heart-lung machine and patient’s physiologic variables such blood temperature, blood composition, and flow rate, and adjusts equipment to maintain normal body functions.
• Assures proper function and maintenance of equipment in conjunction with external technical staff.
• Works with OR and Materials Management team to find the most cost effective methods of providing the service to include equipment purchases and vendor contracts for support.
• Utilizes performance improvement principles to assess and improve quality.
• Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency safety standards relevant to job performance.

GED, High school diploma, or its equivalent
