Summary
The Reservations Manager is responsible for providing assistance and acting on behalf of the Director of Revenue Management and managing day‑to‑day operations of the Reservations and Communications teams. The role includes preparing weekly, monthly and annual reports, and managing department scheduling, hiring, guidance, support and disciplinary actions.

Responsibilities

Ensures incoming reservations are detailed properly, informs other departments, maintains service standards, and updates the MHR OCIS profile database using Opera and supporting technology.

Interacts daily with the Catering and Sales team to facilitate group and catering reservations; communicates with group contacts, sends updated rooming lists and pickup reports.

Attends pre‑convention meetings and oversees timely distribution of monthly group reports.

Prepares and distributes weekly, monthly and annual reports, including pickup reports, ACD reports, marketing statistics, call‑conversion reports, and public relations tracking reports.

Manages department associate engagement, scheduling, payroll, recruitment, counseling, feedback and quarterly department meetings.

Maximizes room revenue by enforcing the correct room rates determined by the Director of Revenue Management while balancing important individual, travel agent, and corporate relationships.

Qualifications

One year’s experience managing a team of five people or more.

One year’s experience working at the front desk or in the reservations department of a luxury hotel.

Previous customer service experience, multi‑line telephone usage and reservations experience.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and fluency in the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

Good cognitive skills with the ability to solve problems and make rational decisions.

Ability to work at a computer for 8+ hours per day while answering the phone and typing.

High school or equivalent education.

Advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Previous experience with communications‑related equipment, including NEC switchboard, Opera and radio equipment.

Preferred

Bachelor’s Degree.

Physical Requirements
Most work tasks are performed indoors in a moderate, climate‑controlled environment. The candidate must be able to sit at a desk for up to five hours per day, walk and stand for the remaining portion of the day, and lift up to 15 pounds occasionally. Other physical requirements include grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, hearing, and visual acuity. Talking and hearing occur continuously while communicating with guests, supervisors, and subordinates.

Compensation
The pay scale for this position is $75,000-$80,000. The pay scale is the base salary wage range, exclusive of incentive pay such as commissions, piece rates, gratuities, and the like, that Montage reasonably expects to pay for the position.
