Join our growing team as a Linux Systems Engineer, supporting the NGA customer mission.ResponsibilitiesYou will support the Geospatial Services & Solutions business area to provide high-quality, cost-effective solutions to the customer. As part of the GSS Team, the Linux Systems Engineer expertise is needed to support a sophisticated enterprise environment. The Linux Systems Engineer is an active participant in SAFe and Scrum development teams and meetings. The systems engineer will be responsible for supporting the customer's enterprise environment.Specific Duties and ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain enterprise Linux-based infrastructure in both on-premises and virtualized environmentsAdminister, maintain, and optimize Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI), including AHV, Prism Central, and Prism Element, to support enterprise Linux workloadsCollaborate with infrastructure teams to provision, configure, and manage virtual machines, storage, networking, and cluster resources within Nutanix environmentsDevelop and maintain automation solutions using Ansible and scripting languages (e.g. Bash & Python)Standardize system configuration, patching, and deployment processes through Infrastructure-as-Code practicesAdminister and support Red Hat ecosystem tools, including Satellite and CapsuleIntegrate and manage authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g. OAuth, SSO, identity providers)Support the development of dashboards and observability solutions using tools such as Grafana and ZabbixMonitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Linux systems and Nutanix infrastructure for performance, availability, and capacityTroubleshoot complex system, virtualization, storage, networking, and integration issues across distributed environmentsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiencyDocument system architecture, processes, automation, and infrastructure standardsContribute to continuous improvement initiatives including automation maturity, platform modernization, and operational best practicesQualificationsClearance Required: Active TS clearance (with SCI Eligibility) and eligibility to obtain CI PolyEducation/Experience:Requires Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience5+ years of experience administering and engineering Linux systems in enterprise environments, including experience supporting enterprise virtualization platforms such as NutanixRequired Skills:Solid understanding of Linux system administration fundamentals (networking, storage, security, and OS internals)Strong expertise in configuration management and automation using AnsibleProficiency in scripting (Bash, Python, or similar) for automation and toolingExperience managing Red Hat-based environments (RHEL, Satellite, Capsule, or similar tools)Hands-on experience administering Nutanix HCI environments, including AHV, Prism Central, Prism Element, virtual machine lifecycle management, storage, networking and cluster operationsExperience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting Linux virtual machines in Nutanix environmentsUnderstanding of virtualization, hypervisor technologies, storage and networking conceptsExperience troubleshooting complex infrastructure, virtualization, and performance issuesExperience implementing security best practice in Linux environmentsExperience with monitoring and alerting systemsStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work independentlyWhat is ideal?Experience with Nutanix advanced capabilities such as Files, Objects, Flow, Calm, or Disaster Recovery.OAuth, LDAP, SSO)Experience with observability and dashboarding tools such as Grafana and ZabbixFamiliarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integration with infrastructure automationExperience with VMWare-to-Nutanix migration or hybrid virtualization environmentsStrong communication and documentation skillsIntelligence Community Experience preferredWhat You Can Expect From UsRecognizing great achievements do not go unnoticed by Bcore through service anniversaries, spot awards, and employee referral bonusesYou'll join a growing organization of passionate, top-shelf, IT engineering professionals with extensive experience in actively developing the technology revolution in the Intelligence communityThe expected salary range within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $113,000-$139,000.
