About the roleHinge Health is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Hardware Engineering team. As a senior engineer, you will work on diverse projects, driving board-level designs for highly integrated products, including medical devices, from schematic to layout to assembly. You will work cross-functionally with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to bring products from concept through production.What you’ll accomplishDrive the electrical design of embedded systems, including component selection, schematic capture, and PCB layout for multi-layer, high-density boardsWork at all stages of the product development process, from exploration and prototyping to detailed design, testing, and ramping to mass productionCollaborate closely with mechanical, firmware, and other electrical engineers on system architecture and integrationEnsure design quality and meeting medical device regulatory requirements with clear documentation and robust testingSupport manufacturing and sustaining engineering by improving designs for reduced cost or improved manufacturability, supporting process or test development, and assisting with failure analysis down to the component levelBasic qualifications4+ years of professional experience in hardware development or embedded systems designExperience with schematic capture and PCB layout for multi-layer boardsExperience with microcontroller-based system design (ARM Cortex-M or similar from companies like Nordic, STM, TI, etc.) and standard digital interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, USB, etc.)Proficient with standard lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, power supplies, soldering equipment and hot-air rework stationsPreferred qualificationsProficiency with Altium DesignerExperience with designs including battery management, Bluetooth LE, high-voltage circuits, and analog designExperience working in medical device development or, alternatively, within another highly regulated industry (aerospace, automotive, etc.)Familiarity with EMI/EMC best practices and familiarity with certification processes (FCC, CE, UL)Basic proficiency in Python for test automation or C/C++ for firmware modifications to aid in bring-up and testingExperience transitioning designs to manufacturing and applying DFM best practicesAbout Hinge HealthAt Hinge Health, we’re using technology to scale and automate the delivery of healthcare - starting with musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions, which affect over 1.7 billion people worldwide.
